Tier's Comments:     -    Run the tying thread down the shank to a position opposite the barb. Catch in a few fibres of brown cock hackle as the tail. Catch in a length of red holographic tinsel at the same point as the tail and then catch in two strands of peacock herl at the same point. Wind the thread back towards the eye in close turns and when in position just behind the eye of the hook, wind the peacock herls in close turns up the hook shank right up to the head to form the body. Secure the loose ends and remove. Now wind the red holographic tinsel over the body in 4 or 5 evenly spaced turns. Secure the end and remove the waste. Invert the hook and tie in a few fibres of brown cock hackle at the eye to form a sparse beard hackle. Replace the hook in its original position, build a head and cast off the thread.
