Tier's Comments:     -    Tie in Red wool tag and floss it out with a piece of velcro. Tie in Oval tinsel. Take thread back up towards eye and apply dubbing to create a nice cigar shaped body. Finish about 1/4 shank behind eye. Tie in first black hackle and palmer it down to where the tail and tinsel are tied in (Use about 9-10 close turns in all). Fix in the palmered hackle by ribbing the oval tinsel back up the body, and tying off with tthe thread. Tie in a second cock hackle (with slightly longer fibrils) and make a thicj bushy collar hackle behind the eye. Tie off .
This fly is great for wild brown trout in lakes, lochs and mountain tarns in England, Wales and Scotland. It is designed to be fished either as a dropper with a wet zulu or pennel, or fished as a pair of dry flies, tied about 5 ft apart. Works well in high summer when left still in flat calm when fish are feeding, or when moved on the surface in choppy water.
