Tier's Comments:     -     This is a great universal pattern for British rivers, It imitates a variety of olive duns and other emerging flies, and so it can be used throughout the year in various sizes (#12-18). Grayling are also susceptible to this fly, and I have even had excellent catches of surface feeding stillwater rainbows on the #14, particularly at evening time. The fine copper wire is essential to ensure the body dips below the surface, particularly with the very small sizes.
